We will help you fully understand septic pumping and our other septic services.
With most innovations comes both good and bad. When the internet was developed, it put a world of information right at your fingertips. That’s good, of course. However, what is bad is that much of that information is incorrect, misleading, or confusing. It is no wonder that you might be unsure about what septic pumping is, if it is necessary, why it is advisable, how often to schedule it, and how it is done properly. At Sewer & Drain Medic, we want to demystify the subject of septic pumping for our Burgaw, North Carolina customers.
The first thing that we want to share is the misconception that you don’t need to have septic pumping done. That is completely false, unless you are fine with premature failure and frequent sewage backups. While the microorganisms in the septic tank do break down the waste, they don’t completely eliminate it. Sludge develops in the bottom of the tank over time, and the only way to remove it is with septic pumping.
As for the right schedule for septic pumping, there are many different contributing factors. Your septic tank may need pumping every year, or it may be fine to stretch to 3, 4, or even 5 years between service. We recommend an annual inspection to be sure all is going well. Also, keep in mind that doing septic pumping more often than it needs to be done won’t hurt it in the least, but there are real dangers in waiting too long.
Feel free to ask us any questions you have about septic pumping or about how to take the best care of your septic system. If it has been a while since your last service visit, call us today to schedule septic pumping.
