Hydrojetting refers to the process of using highly pressurized water to remove blockages and buildup that coats the inside of your drain lines, septic tank, or drain field. A septic professional will insert a nozzle into the system, and then the hose will shoot a high-pressure jet of water at the clog or buildup and clear it away. You can think of it as power washing for your septic system.
Here are several benefits of hydrojetting:
- It cleans the system. It’s true that hydrojetting is a highly effective method of clearing blockages, but it does even more than that. As an added bonus, it cleans your pipes in the process. As the grease, mineral deposits, dirt, and other debris that doesn’t belong in your septic system is cleared away, the water also cleans out harmful bacteria that threatens your health and causes unpleasant odors.
- It is chemical-free. Because hydrojetting only involves water, you don’t have to worry about chemicals eating away at the inside of your drain lines and possibly doing severe damage.
- It’s relatively easy. Hydrojetting doesn’t require a lot of equipment or labor, so it’s a fairly easy job for a professional to do. It doesn’t take a lot of time either. However, you do want to make sure that only an experienced professional is doing your hydrojetting, or you risk damaging your septic system.
- The results will last a long time. Hydrojetting clears drains thoroughly and helps prevent future blockages, so you won’t have to worry about cleaning them so often.
